A second fabric, is then attached to the back of the carpet to hold the yarn in place. Hand tufted carpets are typically heavier weight and have a dense pile that is a wonderful soft layer underfoot. Additional details, like carving and shearing can be used to create different dimensions and textures in the rugs and carpet.
